The VECTR Center provides career advisement and counseling for all 29 University System of Georgia schools and 22 Technical College System of Georgia schools. In addition, in-residence courses are taught on site by Middle Georgia State University and Central Georgia Technical College (see Programs). 

VECTR advisors will:

  • Help you find the right career based on your experience and passion
  • Assist in evaluating your military and civilian transcripts in order to maximize any prior learning credit applicable toward your program of study
  • Help you navigate the financial aid process to include VA educational benefits, Federal/State grants and scholarships. 
  • If you are interested in attending an accelerated training course or a bachelor’s degree program on-site, counselors will help enroll you in class and will be with you every step of the way
  • Provide you tools to enable you to succeed in your educational pursuits
  • If you attend a university or college elsewhere in the state within the University or Technical College Systems of Georgia, counselors will contact your future school to insure a smooth transition.  
  • Help you with your resume and interviewing skills
  • Assist you in finding employment

Testing: On-site services to include both paper-and-pencil tests and computer-administered standardized tests needed for admission, distance learning, workforce development, credentials, and licenses.  Click here for testing information.

Counseling: Resiliency Officer on staff who serves as a liaison to counseling outreach programs and community resources for transitioning military, veterans or their families as they seek services from the VECTR Center in order to enter Georgia’s postsecondary institutions or the civilian workforce.

Georgia Department of Veteran Service Officers counsel and assist veterans in all matters pertaining to veterans benefits, from determining eligibility for earned benefits to gathering documents and information required to support benefits claims to following claims and they wind through the VA system.
